Frequently asked questions.

How do I book the band?

To book contact Philip McBride to check band availability. Our prices depend on where the gig is, how long you want us to play for and how many people are in the band lineup. We offer four – seven piece line-ups. A £100 deposit secures the booking with the remaining balance payable on the night. We do travel all over the UK and beyond- contact us for a quote.

 

Where can I hear the band?

Visit our website for video/audio demos of band. We regularly play at the Jazz bar in Edinburgh or you can come to see a band showcase at the Sonic lodge studios

 

How long does the band play for?

This depends on your requirements- we normally play for 3 hours during a standard 8:00-midnight evening reception but we can be flexible to suit the timings of your event.

 

What kind of music do you play?

We play tunes from a wide repertoire (see attached setlist) and are happy for you to highlight the tunes you particularly like. (or hate!).

 

Do you have a ceilidh option?

We regularly do gigs with a ceilidh option- we can add a fiddle player to the band lineup- contact us for a quote.

 

Do you take requests?

Yes we will happily learn a first dance and up to 3 new tunes for you if you let us know in advance.

 

How long does it take the band to set up?

We typically require 50mins to an hour to set up and soundcheck.

 

Can you provide music for the breaks?

We always bring an ipod with a playlist in keeping with the music that we play- you’re welcome to provide your own ipod too.

 

What happens if one of the band members is ill?

We have a pool of high quality and reliable dep musicians so that if someone from the band can’t make the gig then we can easily find a replacement.

 

What about the boring stuff?

The Number Nine band has public liability insurance with Norwich Union up to the value of £10,000000. Our equipment is regularly checked and PAT tested every year.
